Two things changed - the process and the base.

 

V.1 was cold-process. Cold-process uses lye during soapmaking. Lye is harsh on sensitive actives. It can break them down before they ever reach your skin.

 

V.2 uses a melt-and-pour base instead. The lye chemistry is done before we add anything. Every brightening active goes in after - at low temperature, no lye anywhere near them. Every ingredient arrives intact.

 

We also added Ceramide NP, Hyaluronic Acid, and Collagen Peptides. Your skin gets cleansed and nourished at the same time.

 

The brightening actives are all the same. Just better protected than before.

Where does it help most with dry crepey skin?

Our Skin Restore Soap is primarily made for crepey skin on the:

  • Chest
  • Back of hands
  • Neck
  • Décolleté
  • Above the knees
  • Arms/forearms

For other areas like around the eyes, we typically do not recommend use around the delicate eye area. The skin around the eyes is thinner and more sensitive, making it prone to irritation.

Yes, (no really) even though our soap is made with coconut oil (known to clog pores) we use mindful amounts and split the amount in half by incorporating fractionated coconut oil (a refined non-comedogenic alternative). 

 

We also made sure to incorporate 3 different Kaolin Clays to help effectively draw out excess oil from the skin, helping to unclog pores. 

 

However, even with all of these efforts we still recommend performing a patch test if you have very oily or acne-prone skin.
